The International Society for Educational Biography welcomes you!
The society’s purpose is threefold:
- to promote the scholarly study of the lives of educators and those whose lives are educative;
- to encourage the exchange of ideas between scholars of education and those from other disciplines who have an interest in the field of education through the common bond of the educational biography;
- to further the improvement of teaching in education by adding a biographical dimension to the study of pedagogy.
By “biography” we include traditional biographical accounts as well as biographical methods which include: narrative, oral history, autobiography, ethnography, autoethnography, and self-study.
We have an annual ISEB conference (usually at the end of April or beginning of May) and we welcome scholars with an interest in biography to join us! Our journal, Vitae Scholasticae, is published twice a year.
